Parents can now make online LUNCH payments through the TeacherEase iOS and Android mobile apps. To access this feature iOS users must update the app, no update is required for Android.
Once in the app, parents can navigate to More > Fees / Lunch Balance to view a summary of their account balances.

The 1st Day of School for the Silex R-1 School District is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20, 2024. School starts at 7:50 a.m. and dismisses at 3:35 p.m. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. - 7:50 a.m. We can't wait to see all our students, teachers and staff!

Silex School District will now allow 6th grade athletes to participate in middle school sports. 6th grade students will be able to attend practice with the middle school team. If there are not enough 7th and 8th grade athletes to fill team spots, 6th grade athletes will be allowed to play in games. If there are enough upperclassmen to fill the teams, 6th grade athletes will only be practicing. 6th grade athletes will need a current physical and must fill out all of the required paperwork that can be found on our school website or picked up in the HS office. All Clopton home softball games played this fall, both high school and middle school, will be played at the Eolia Khoury League Field adjacent to Highway 61, Eolia Ball Park - 23385 Highway 61, Eolia, MO 63344.

Any athlete who is playing a fall sport needs to have a current physical on file, a practice card filled out, and a MSHSAA pre participation form filled out. If you are a 1st year athlete a code of conduct and drug testing form also needs to be filled out. These need to be turned in before you can practice. All forms can be found in the high school office. High school fall practices start August 12 and middle school fall practices start the following week. Silex HS boys who are interested in playing soccer, the 1st practice will be next Monday, August 12th, at 4:30 p.m. at Elsberry High School.

Silex R-1 Families: Starting today, Friday, June 21st, we will no longer be accepting lunch payments through our online system throughout the summer break. Online payments will be accepted when the 2024-2025 school year begins in August. If you need to make a payment, please mail it to Silex R-1 School District, 64 Hwy. UU, Silex, MO. 63377. Thank you.

Physicals for the 2024-2025 school year: sports physical evaluations are required every two years in order to be eligible to participate. If you are needing a physical, new forms must be filled out. All 4 pages must be filled out by your physician, but only the last page (MSHSAA Medical Eligibility Form - Step 3) must be turned in to your coach. Keep the other 3 pages for your records. If you have a physical on file from last year and it is good for another year, you do not need to do anything. If you have a physical that has expired or needing a new one, you must fill out the new forms. Please be sure to obtain a physical and fill out the "RED tryout card", code of conduct form and drug testing form prior to the first day of fall sports practices. High school practices will start on August 12, 2024 and middle school will start on August 19, 2024. Transportation is not provided - Drop off will be 7:45-8:00 in the elementary parking lot, pick up will be from 3:00-3:10 in the elementary parking lot.
Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:00
Students will need to bring a backpack and a water bottle
K-2 send in class snack for one day (enough for 12 students)
3-6 bring own snack
