Conferences and Report Card Pick Up -
Middle School and High School teachers will be set up at various tables in the Cafeteria, where you can also pick up grade cards. If you would like a more private meeting with a teacher, we will have private rooms nearby.
This year we are offering an incentive to students if their parents stop by and visit. When you arrive you will be given a “passport” card, and if you visit at least four teachers, your child will get to participate in a Hat Day; if you visit 6 or more teachers they will also receive an ice cream treat at lunch next week.

Brandelyn Martin has made finals, as the Missouri candidate for a National FFA Officer position. There are only 6 national officers, and she will continue through the process until Saturday, when they will announce. We are proud that she is representing the Silex FFA so well! Sophomores you will be taking the ASVAB on Thursday, October 20th in the HS Math/Social Studies room. Please report there when the 8:00 bell rings. All of the supplies are provided so all you need is yourself.
Juniors and Seniors if you would like to retake the ASVAB to get a better score or if you have never taken it you may do so please see Miss Kuntz for more information.
Troy Buchanan High School is hosting a college fair on Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 pm in their commons area. There will be over 50 colleges, universities and career agencies. This is a great place to start your college search and is open to all grade levels.
Thursday, October 20th, school will be dismissed at 12:15 pm. There will be no school on Friday, October 21st.
9th-11th graders there will be a College and Career Parent Information Night on Thursday from 5-7 pm. You should be receiving a flyer during Advisement to take home to your parents. This is very important as Ms. Kuntz will be giving information to your parents about the College and Career planning process. Students are invited to attend as well if you want to. The 9th-10th grade parents info session will be from 5:30-6 and the 11th grade will be from 6:15-7pm.
