The Silex Junior High track meet is postponed for today. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 6th, 4 p.m. at Winfield. Junior High will practice today from 3-4:30 p.m.

The high school track meet scheduled for tomorrow, March 31st, at Wright City is cancelled & will not be rescheduled.
The baseball games for tonight at Silex vs. Community R-VI are postponed due to inclement weather. A reschedule date is TBD. The FCA Service Appreciation Night is also postponed.

The Silex R-I School Board of Education would like to announce the hiring of Mr. Nick Heggemann as the new Superintendent for the Silex R-I School District. Mr. Heggemann will officially begin his duties effective July 1, 2022.
Mr. Heggemann has been in education for 17 years with 12 of those years being in school administration. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Heggemann taught math and PE. Mr. Heggemann has most recently served as the high school principal at Louisiana High School for the last 5 years and he currently holds Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degrees from Southwest Baptist University.
“The Silex Board of Education is confident that Mr. Heggemann will provide exceptional leadership to our district moving forward. Throughout the hiring process it became evident that Mr. Heggemann was the right choice for our district and we are excited to have him join our community,” stated school board president Gabe Twellman.
The books have arrived from the Book Blast! Pre-K - 1st grade received theirs today & grades 2-5, will receive theirs tomorrow!
The Silex baseball game for today is postponed. It is rescheduled for Wednesday, April 20th, at 5:00 p.m. at Silex.
